I can’t figure it out.  There is a lot of negative stuff said about Kooday.

Perhaps people just don’t understand that it’s not a finished product yet.  It is a Search Engine in startup/pre-launch phase.  It should hopefully go live before Christmas 2010 and start giving relevant search results then and improve from there.

Kooday does takes work right now as a money making opportunity.  It’s a type of work I enjoy and I don’t have to get a bunch of referrals to make good money.

I have received $100 or more to my AlertPay account every week for the past 5 weeks. And I have $430 line up to be put in AP over the next 4 weeks.

Below are my notes from the last Conference call with Kooday, does this sound like a scam to you?

PK has done a great job.

1) IPR – testing ongoing. Spoke with a head programmer. Parts that are operating are working as expected. I brought up some examples of issues from people given to me. They will be modifying and fixing IPR. Appreciate your testing.
2) Search – soon as we have the IPR tied in satisfactorily we will turn on search features – we are confident it will be turned on next week. That will make us relevant in our searches.
3) Percent of keywords – will be turned on in days or next week. KW crawlers have found will be displayed in your backoffice. Eventually will be able to see each KW you have. May at first be just # relevant.
4) Week after that we will be able to go to the new profit sharing plan. If % is not that high, do not panic. There may be many reasons for that. For those with few found…. The formula based on all KWs found minus # KWs not found. Won’t go into detail. Some people have tried to cheat the system buying “bad” KWs. Don’t want a lot of discussion or panic. Low % of bad KWs won’t hurt you. We don’t want 1001 calls on the day the % come up. Give us time to look at them and investigate. If someone has zero % good, I won’t mind hearing from you. If they are fluctuating, it’s working as it should.
5) Why is % on search page going down? We are increasing capacity in gathering and processing information. At times we had to release processing capacity for IPR. % is supposed to be going down until programmers turn on more processing power. % will be taken off the site.
6) Snapshot bonus – for those prior to Sept 30. At some time backoffice will show % of keywords for snapshot bonus.
7) Will be announcing – allowing members to share KWs with other members. Will be an exciting portion of our direction forward. Will be an extra reward for members with a KW empire. If you have a big empire of good KWs you will be able to use it to help you bring in new members. It will benefit you to become a Diamond.
Is there a date for starting snapshot bonus? Dec 1 was mentioned but we didn’t get up on Oct 22. We have to be an operating profitable search engine to start paying SSB. Will have to be operating in search mode for a few days before we can pay SSB.
9) Major advertiser has given us milestones and percentages for us to meet. Funds from that advertiser will be used toward SSB once we get going with relevant search. It would be great if we could do it before Christmas. With programming in new areas there are often snapshots. It is difficult to make any predictions. I am very happy with progress and with this major advertiser. They are happy with what we have shown them. They said: “This is what search will be in the future.” They LOVE what they have seen and want to get away from spending much of their $$ with other engines. This is very encouraging, hearing it from them.
10) Gold Reduction, will there be another soon? There could be. Just depends on when it has to kick in. Part of our dilution control. It will happen occassionally – we don’t know how often. After we get Search going, I will be able to give much more clarification on how things will work. It’s a brilliant process but I can’t say much now. I will be able to talk about it when Search is active.
11) Banner ads will triple next week. Now $129, going to $387. We only have so much space. They will become untouchable. We weren’t going to mention it, but by not this Thursday, but the following one, Dec 9 they will go up.
12) What is a KW empire – what size are you talking about? I am talking more about having KWs that people really want to be associated with. Say you have one for $1000, people can be associated with it for pennies. For example: “car” – if you own it, you will benefit greatly from having others associated with it. We realized that KWs will get out of reach, so others can be associated with them and the owners will benefit. This will be an exciting new feature.

Q&A:
Several people saying how much they love Kooday.

Q: Is quality of KW only important? How about quantity? Both are very important. We need to build the size of the DB. There is benefit from quantity of KWs as well as quality. We want to pay out as much of the revenue as we can. The owner’s benefit will come way down the road, we are giving out revenue to our members now. We want to keep giving you $$ every week because that keeps you interested and telling others about Kooday. If we have people coming to KD, the advertisers will come.

Q: is there any benchmark for numbers of words? Is there a good level? I feel that people should pull out some money every week. Don’t have to just reinvest everything. It is good to have a balanced approach. Help others. Don’t get greedy. One member is giving away some of his referrals to members who help him grow KD. I do get a few calls about people who can’t get help from referrer. Part of that is the fault of our tools and you can’t find out. We have to be careful with Privacy issues. But new website will help establish communications for those who want it.

Q: Linking questions. I have linked some sites. Some I haven’t linked but they appear in my sites list and I can’t remove them. What is the significance of these sites in my list? Also there is a word I want to keep and I have linked to it but my link is way down on the list. Haven’t received payment for others.
When we get all our features in it will make sense. Right now, if you put in a site, and you are logged in, it will go into your Site list. It let’s you edit something…. It will change when we go live. Only those who pay for the link will be able to see the sites. Eventually, after testing, we will allow you to remove ones you don’t want.
Right now the order is not necessarily correct. But if you have used IPR and actually Paid, you go to first spot. Next person pays and you move down for each time someone pays. IF you pay again, you jump back to the 1st spot.
Q: Snapshot Bonus payments, will there be a way we can control how much we receive to manage our tax liabilities?
Yes. Over x amount of $, we will allow you to have it sit there and take it when you want.
Q: Can larger payments be sent by check, not via AlertPay? Say over $30K? Could we request it by check or debit card?
We have been approached with lots of options/suggestions. We haven’t committed to anything. We may have different options for different countries. Some countries don’t have checks. In Canada we can write checks and could make that option available. Different options will have different fees associated. We want to make things automated if possible and we can automate checks. We just don’t know just what options we will offer yet.

Q: Trivia Question. People are curious about the # of members currently? I think there are around 70,000. We have just touched the surface.

Q: Will we have email like something@kooday.com? We don’t really want to get into that area right now. We may present something different down the road. There is a social site that is doing
something with communications that we might want to get involved with.

Q: IPR. Playing with it and put in websites and got error messages. Today, it had a bunch of KWs and said fees $43 and cost of $707 to purchase. What do those mean?
IPR takes a look at a Webpage and finds the words that members own. (other things are going on that you don’t see yet.) When java script is involved, it occasionally does weird things. Programmers have to set their filters differently, members call and give me examples and I pass them on. Just be patient, they are working through the issues.
It finds words on the webpage that members own. Our search features takes into consideration every word that a person types in.. You may wonder why anyone would want the word “under” or “over” but the search algorithm combines that with the other words they type in and it may become very relevant.
You will have to learn a new way to search.
Right now we have basic filters. You will be able to change the starting point to not show you single keywords.
Q: How do the payments work? When linking you can pay through Alertpay. It comes in a 90 day subscription default. Advertisers want subscriptions. There will be other options than 90 day, right now we are just testing.

Q: Gold Credit Reduction: Will I have a reduction when I hit 5000? No. There is no planned reduction right now. It can come at any time. I don’t expect one in the next week. As business picks up the GCR will happen more often. We are planning things that will help that.

Q: Say I have “car” for $1000. If others share, will it reduce my benefit? No. It will benefit you and they will also benefit. I can’t comment more on it now.

Q: Snapshot bonus… when ??? We are basically testing next week and shortly thereafter we will go live for search features. Definitely in December. We have other things, specialty groups of members, coming down the road. Won’t talk about them now – few months down the road.

Q: I search on a real word and it doesn’t bring up relevant sites. Right now if results are relevant at all, it’s just on one word. Once we put in the search, it will work.

Q: I would rather take $200 and give it to someone below me and help them be a diamond. Isn’t it better to create more diamonds than just increase value? Both are good strategies. There are lots of teams working together and we applaud that. Those who have driven up KW values, do well. Increase your own and help increase value for those below you.

Q: Keyword empire. If you look next to the KW you have – there is a rating. What does that mean? The rating increases everytime someone owns it. Rating 19 means it has had 19 owners. When trying to create PSC, it is relevant.

Comment: Kooday has increased my vocabulary! Greatest program. I’ll be set for life. We actually get to use our brainpower.

Q: As we grab more marketshare will the time between requesting and receiving payouts will that decrease? No, this is set giving us minimal risk. It reduces risk of fraud. Eventually we will probably change to monthly payout with 15 day delay. Maybe a year away. Right now we like weekly. It’s a great feature. When we hit millions of members, we will have to change. If you have a payout request every week, you get a weekly payout. It is a good idea to withdrawn some amount every week.

Q: Do you foresee any cool Kooday products down the road? Yes, some inquiries about T-shirts. Nothing planned right now. Have retained lawyers to help us keep our rights. Sometime next year, when we start grabbing market share, things will change. Events around the world to meet Kooday staffers. Then we will probably generate products. Thinking of getting custom pens. We first want to deal with Kooday people and we will eventually generate products.

Q: Lots of negative stuff out there about Kooday when talking to people. What would you say to someone who questions the integrity of Kooday? Everyone has the right to question. Time will tell. Wordfights resolve nothing. Actions are what speak. Don’t try to convince the negative ones. Jesus Christ lived 2000 years ago and there are still people who don’t accept him. Some people will never believe.
We have missed by about $2 million by what we would be comfortable with on the SSB. We thought we let it run too long. But now we are happy with it. If we hit 3% will will pay it off very fast. Sometimes I’m too optimistic and have been told to tone it down. I try to just be honest and tell it like it is. We don’t want to participate in mudslinging.
Eric: Just tell them to stay in the bushes and watch.

Q: Say I’m an advertiser and I purchase my link of keywords and purchase them. Do I have to repurchase them every 90 days? No. You can cancel. You are locked in at that price even if the words go up. You can pay once and you remain on top until you are pushed down, but you risk having to pay more the next time you link to them.

Q: as a member, do I get paid every time they repay? Yes, if you still own the words. Whoever owns the KW at the time the link is paid for gets the commission.

Q: Do advertisers have to pay multiple times during a year? Yes if they want to stay on the top. Our rates are very affordable compared to PPC. We will really attract advertisers and they will be happy to pay.

Q: Of 70,000 members, how many diamonds are there? I don’t want to divulge that. I’ve been told not to release that number. We had 20,000 prior to launch and had a different arrangement with them. We don’t want to give out too much info, if we do, the mathematicians can figure out things that we want to keep private to our business.

Q: Snapshot bonus. I thought I heard you say people who joined after Sept 30 would not participate? Is that correct? Yes.

Q: Will there be only one SSB? No, there will be other things coming. We want to be know for ‘from time to time’ spontaneously declaring some things for our members. It misses opportunity to hype it up ahead of time, but we want to do things like this. We don’t want to play it out in a marketing manner. We want to focus on our Advertisers. And we want to offer our members opportunities, and if you are a member of Kooday, you’ll just open your email and get a surprise – no notice.

Q: Kooday is Canadian based – how does that impact US taxes? Our money not being made in US. Do we worry about that? When you make money, in US you have to declare income. Certain international ecommerce laws aren’t set yet. No one can advise us. Canada won’t be prepared for international ecommerce for 3-4 years. Accountants can’t advise people on it. We have to abide by Canadian law. We operate on a different rule, if they are in Kooday you may not have to declare it. If you withdraw it, then you need to declare it. Personal accountants can help you with your business earnings and expenses.

Q: I have been getting 1 cent payment for links. I thought it should be 50 cents? You must be talking about a commission. …. Question needed more clarification… not answered now.

Q: When is the paypal money to be released? I think 6 months from September.

Eric; If you haven’t created a Kooday event on Facebook…. DO it. It will help increase your referrals.
